Blade Starter

In addition to the carb. problem (posted under engine) I am also having a problem with the starter.

Last night when we tried to start the engine, the starter worked fine, but tonight it has developed a problem.

When you press the starter button, the starter will turn the engine for a couple of seconds and then stop, it is as if it is jammed. If you put the car in gear and rock it (as you would in a CEC), it appears to release the starter, but if you try it again, the same thing happens.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Simon

wired up as in your diagram shortie, however, just looking at the haynes, i think i have missed a connection off of the side of the starter. Is there the feed from the starter relay and also an earth on the side? It was spinning fine yesterday without this connection. Seems strange how we have not changed anything and its just started playing up.
