sqeaky clutch pushrod!!
hi everyone,
i've finally got my rush hayabusa running. Only thing is the pushrod going from the clutch slave into the clutch itself turns in time with the
engine. It also give off a faint metallic squeal which i am worried may damage the slave piston or seal going into the clutch. Has anyone got any idea
what may be causing this.
thanks
alex

Don't know much about these but it sounds like it is spinning with the clutch. I would investigate further by checking the inside the clutch
cover incase something is caught up and turning your clutch slave. Otherwise it will eventually wear the clutch slave through.

Mhh
The clutch basket has a bearing for this,
when the bearing goes to h*ll
Then you axle would spin.
Deffenitly would solve the problem before more damage happens...
also think about where the bearingmaterial is??

thanks for the tip. I took the clutch out last night. Thankfully the bearing is in one piece (appears in good condition). The bearing appears to have
an 'open' and 'closed' side -- stupidly i didn't pay too much attention to which way it came out - I take it the
'open' side is to contact the washer on the rear of the pressure plate. If this had been installed the other way around could this have
caused the problem. Has anybody any other ideas?
Thanks
Al

how does the bearing surface feel??
try to push with your finger top on the inner bus of the bearing and try to feel any dips and surface problems(rotating it),
the axle doesn´t weight anything sow the problem could easyly be that bearing!
also i think you should have a look at the slave cilinder maybe you clutch doesn´t declutch enough or something..
but i keep thinking its that bearing.
it just should be rolling,
also make sure that both end of the rod are rounded up?
the hayes says also a smear of grease on it..

the bearing itself isn't like one ive seen before. It is a very thin carrier with a large number of flat rollers in it. One side of the bearing
is 'closed' and the other side is 'open' presumably to contact the washer that is against the pressure plate. I will check the
rod tonight. I guess the other problem could be the clutch not disengaging completely as you mentioned.
I'll let you know how i get on

pushrod out - looks like i have found the problem. there is slight scoring on the shaft of the larger part of the pushrod - it appears to be bent!.
when i pulled the rod out it came out as one piece, the larger section with the thinner rod attached to the end. Is this normal as it almost appears
as though they should actually be two seperate rods? anyway if they wern't supposed to be they are now because i snapped the bugger!! I'll
get new rods, bearing and gasket tomorrow - should solve the problem.
