drivers front locking up

hi all,
well first of all what a nice day for driving

i have noticed the under very hard braking my o/s/f wheel locks up
just rechecked all my settings and found that the brackets are about 2mm higher
than the other ( but wouldnt of thought that would be the cause)
also the brake disc on the other side is not wearing as much?

changed both calipers (recon) all brike pipes and flexys
(cortina fronts)
any ideas ?

cheers paul

Sounds like a sticking caliper on the wheel that is not locking up........does that make sense?

Can you check the weight distribution, nsf / osf ? I guess wheel with less weight on it will lock first.

Yep I'd look at corner weights first, try winding the shock spring platform up a couple of turns on that side and see if it helps / makes a difference.

have you tried pushing even harder to see when the other wheel locks??
You will always get one wheel locking before the other and it will usually be the osf (in light cars) as it will be loaded more than the others mainly due to the fact that there is more weight at that side (you're sat there). Unless you have had the car set up with you sat in the car that wheel will lock first.
However the nsf should lock up just after the osf locks, and if you can try braking hard just up to the point of wheel lock then both the front tyres should start protesting togethor if your set up is right.

Just dont try this on the queens highway

Its usually the lighter wheel that will lock first, not the one with more weight on it though, hence why I suggested winding the spring platform up a bit to put more weight onto it.

As ChrisGamlin spotted --- corner weights -- the old four leg table problem, car is stitting "cap & corner". Front left and rear right are taking all the weight.
