Fireblade Prop & Clutch Query..??

Just had the car on axle stands to test the drive drain.I have noticed a few things

1 : As soon as i engane the 1st gear the seems to be a clattering (like the prop was hitting something,But its not)
as you increase the revs it goes away..

then as you change gear it comes back again then goes away as you increase

It seems quite loud and somewhat concerning

2: I seem to be able just to engage 1st gear no matter what i do to the clutch pedal and with about 1100rpm revs on it

I know theres somrthing wrong because when pushing in the clutch pedal it will not disengae drive. No matter what i do to the pedal Or the leaver on the box it seems that the clutch is permanltly engaged..

Can someone confirm this or is there a way of testing

Cant seem to point my brain in the right direction..

Geoff

I would check it whilst not running the engine, get someone to dip the clutch whilst the engine is in gear and see if you can turn the prop. If not, then its either a stuck clutch plate or you're not disengaging it properly. If the former, often letting the engine oil warm up will free it up over 5-10 minutes in neutral, in conjunction with a bit of wood etc propping the clutch pedal to the floor.
If the latter, then obviously need to check the cable throw etc. Make sure you're actually pulling the clutch itself, and not just taking up the slack. There's about 90 degrees of sprung travel before the clutch even starts to pull, this first bit you can easily do with your fingers on the lever, but when it goes solid is where the clutch should start to disengage, you'll only do this bit with the pedal / cable, or some mole grips etc on the lever
