2003 R1 Clocks km/h to Mph?

I've currently got 2003 R1 clocks in my Fury (2003 5PW injected) and they are in km/h however its running a yellow box so it approx shows the speed in mph although the units on the clocks show km/h.

Only problem is that its on max adjustment (-28%) and its not enough so its still over-reading by about 10-12 percent.

I know on the earlier clocks you can hold down Select for 2 secs to switch between km/h and mph but this doesn't work on these.

Is there another way of getting these into mph? I know there is a company called Scorpio electronics that can change them to mph for £60 but I might as well buy an mph set of clocks then sell my km/h ones as that would cost less than £60.

Either that or I could get a speedo healer which can do a lot more adjustment but that costs £60 and I'd still have clocks that read in km/h.

Any ideas appreciated.

That is one option at £60. But I've already got a yellow box so if I can buy some mph clocks for ~£100 say and sell my km/h ones for £70 then its only cost me £30 for example.

Just checking there isn't a cunning way I can get my km/h clocks to read in mph before I go to this hassle.

The other problem in any case is the mileage it reads and making it the same (or as near as I can) to the true mileage of the car - which is about 10 - 15% higher than it should be anyway!

Can you not create a clock face in MPH on your PC, print it out and then just cover the one you have. There's a few people on here who have done just that.

Phil

Or even go to a bike breakers and find a speedo dial. Any one will do as long as it is a similar size and goes up to the required MPH. A set of broken clocks shouldn't set you back too much if anything at all.

On an R1 the speedo is a digital LCD display. The tacho is the only analogue display so a new dial doesn't work. I could put a sticker over the km/h bit but it would look a bit pikey and I'd still need a speedo healer to get it to read correctly.

With the main switch on so the clocks are powered up try and hold down the select and reset buttons for 3 seconds.
That changes it on mine.
