5vy R1, main switch + lean angle switch questions?

Right i'm just in the process of sorting the wiring out on my 5vy r1 engine, after hours of studying the wiring diagram i've pretty much sorted what i need/what can be chopped out/what needs earthing etc. so just two questions (yes i know there is a search function )
1. The blue/yellow + blue/black wires going to the main switch, after searching on here i should short them together, fair enough but what do they actually do? also i'm getting around 10.6v (instead of around 12.7 which the battery was kicking out) at the blue/black wire (from ecu according to my diagram) is this correct?
2. Does everyone else fit the lean angle cut off switch? if so in what orientation (i'd assume with the UP facing up) front/rear left/right or doesn't it matter?

On the 5PW the Blue/Yellow- Blue black wires are in a small red connector. They're grouped in to the Main switch section on the wiring diagram. Now the main switch is what I took to be the key, it had 2 chunky wires, red and brown/blue. So I reckoned the red connector is the run switch.

As for what it does, well it's connected to the ecu and also the clutch switch!

Yeah, i know where they are and what they're connected to, just wondered what their purpose was, but thanks anyway , the engine won't spark until they're shorted out, but will still turn over if left uncoupled...
Any ideas about the lean angle cut off switch?

they are just an earth function , i think just to help immobilise as they are connected to the ignition barrel on the bike, on the bike its a two pole switch one to power the loom from the battery and the other to earth blue yellow / blue black to ecu etc
where in chesterfield u from?

Carl,
the 5VY R1 has 2 pairs to the ignition switch. the 1st pair simply switch 12v to power the ingnition circuit. the 2nd circuit (the one you are asking about) is the 'start veto' circuit. as long as the conditions exist for a 'start' such as neutral selected, clutch switch satisfied, etc this circuit feeds the ECU and allows a start of the engine to be carried out. dont worry about what voltage you get on the pair, either short it out permanently or switch it with a relay off your main ignition circuit i.e. when you turn the ignition on, your relay will operate and short out this circuit for you. hope this helps. Hi.

ditch it. put a resistor instead. Another place not to have problems with
