Not fitted my prop yet so Ive just been and measured it,it is 55" to 57",thats with the sliding joint fully in,its 55",and with it fully out its 57",when its bolted in position,it should be about mid way between these two mesurements so 56".
it will vary between car to car, just depends how far forward or back your engine is mounted, have you got your engine in yet?,can you measure between the diff flange, and the gearbox output flange.

cheers, that sounds about right. Is that prop from MK? dont suppose you have a pic of it do you? heres a pic of the one im looking at buying, its been made professionally by someone for Playskool, but he wants £200 for it, its only 2 weeks old in use but 2yrs in his garage. I dont think it looks like a trt prop, can anyone confirm this? if its not then ill go with mk as its going to be half the price!

Pic here -

Yes mine is a MK prop,Ive not got any pictures, will take one and load it up later,if that one he's selling is trt its worth £200,I am taking mine up to dunning and fairbank tomorrow to have a trt fitted to mine, they charge about £150 for this, with a new centre bearing, and balanced.
Just make sure your measurement is correct,as 1/8" too long or short and its not a lot of good to you,you may be better getting MK to make one for you to your correct size.

mmm, im converting my car from cec to bec so the extra inch length wont be too much of an issue as ill just put the engine forward more, and an extra inch shouldnt make much difference. I asked him if it was a trt one and he had no idea what i was talking about?

No,not trt type,if you supply them a sierra prop, they will fit a new sliding joint on the end,if you do requirefor trt prop you have to go to someone like dunning and fairbank, they will fit you a trt section to your prop, for about £150.

thats pretty much what i want too matt as i stupidly sold my cec prop which i could have just had modded!

I dont have a sierra prop either so one from MK will prob cost me the £70 odd, plus surcharge £30ish, plus P&p so im thinking around £130ish quid??? Ill give MK a call 2mo as i think once ive got my prop i can start to get the engine lined up in place!

Then add the price of the TRT and it starts to get expensive

Anyone had one made as a new one off item?

I am sure dunning and fairbank will make you one up complete,Ive no idea on cost of a complete one, they replace the whole rear section and UJ anyway ,plus new centre bearing so there's not much left of the old prop so I cant see it being that much more, there number is 01132488788,its just I already had one made by MK,I was not going to bother with one,as I managed without on my other car, they weigh quite a bit more than a standard prop, but was swayed by Phil,"hellfire" as they have been pleased with the result in fitting one to there zx12.

Right update on trt props,I haved been upto dunning & fairbank today, apparently the trt part of the prop, and the slidding joints have increased in price recently, the cost of a trt prop from them is now £235 +vat, thats a complete new unit made to your supplied measurements, delivery is about £15.It takes about 7 to 10 working days to make, from date of order .
