Anyone with a blade Rectifier who could take a few readins for me thats online
i need to check out my rectifer, i think its a bit dodgy..it seems to charge the battery ok but i cant match the readings in the haynes
manual...although i might be doing something wrong
But the main problem seems to be a driving fault..i fitted everything as per andy (at ab performance) gave me dyno kit, jets ,filter etc,etc
ive taken it out a couple of times and it pulls very well upto about 7-7500k revs then just stops..
then thursday night didnt do anything different and it pulled above this upto 9000 and just kept accelarating onwards like it should..
now out playing today and its back to stopping at about 7-7000 again..
im convinced its an electrical issue somewhere
All suggestions gratefully recieved
Geoff

I've gone through a few rectifiers and this does not sound like a charging issue. Currently, my battery is dead flat, but I can still drive it
around. Of course, I need a jump to get it started.
I'm no expert, but it sounds like your carbs are off.

Geoff,
Is it a standard rectifier?? or the new style with the fins?
Rich.

Same as chris i've gone through a few blade rectifiers at the moment i'm running at trackdays with no rectifier just straight off the
battery, revs to the limiter, would look in a different area

When i was riding my bike and the rectifier went, even when the battery was on its knees and it still ran correctly when not charging.
Got another rectifier, this one started overcharging and fried the battery, again the bike ran fine until the battery could no-longer smooth the power
at which point I stopped (boiled it dry).
So I do not think this would be an issue either.
Regards Mark
nb/ I run a huge rectifier off a honda V twin now, no problem at all.

Geoff
been thinking about your issue, being as you have the same carb settings as half the rgb grid I doubt they are the issue, same for the reg/rec. This
sort of fault can occur with ecu but it is also very similar to a fault I had at the Isle of Man TT. -
Have you sealed anything into your fuel tank with silicon or RTV, - sender etc. On my race bike a small ammount of silicon was floating in the tank (
it goes like jelly)
On load we were fine until it got sucked against the outlet then no more power until you backed off and throttled up again. Sometimes we could go 2 or
3 miles then the silicon got picked up again.
I have also seen this type of problem with chairs when the inner of the rubber fuel line collapsed. If you are still experiencing problems give me a
call and I will send you out a spare ecu and coils to try
good luck
