New blade engine
Thinking about upgrades etc and was just wondering if the new FI blade engines use the same cradle and exhaust as the 893 blade and if not what is the
newest blade engine that does?
thanks,
Rich.

cradle off old 893/ 919 can be adapted to fit 929/ 954 quite easily. Exhaust totally different as bigger bore primaries. Around late 99/00 or
thereabouts was the change to f.i. with bigger exhaust. If you buy a f.i. engine make sure you get all the bits for the HISS system, because they will
not work without it! My 954 with power commander made 129bhp at wheels on holeshot rollers.

Not tempted to go CBR1000RR then Rich?
That would be my pick of the litre motors at the moment.

If you get a later HISS 954 then you can use the USA loom/ECU to remove the functions.
Or, the way I'd probably go is Microsquirt. Ideal for the job.
My upgrade path as soon as mines finished, will be to fit some RR1 TB's to my 919 using Microsquirt, then move to my 954 RR2 using
Microsquirt.
The sale of all the HISS stuff will easily cover the cost of the Microsquirt.

'99 RRX was the last of the carbed blades before they changed to 929 FI engines. From what Im told 929 / 954s are similar to each other (but
different to the carbed engines), and the 998 CBR1000RR engine is different again.
