'05 R1 exhaust / emissions

Sorry if this has been covered before but am looking for some help in planning my exhaust system for my R1 Tiger B6.

How have people managed with emissions at SVA with the 04 - 06 injected R1's??
I will obviously have a powercommander fitted so could have an "SVA" map for the fuelling but am i also likely to need a decent sized catalyst or might i get away with a standard bike one fitted to a few bikes these days?? I have seen a cat on the MK website which fits into the centre pipe so that could be an option but ideally would prefer one that could "fall off" after SVA.
What do you recon gents??

Cheers
Paul

I got through with a small cat in the link pipe between the manifold and the can.

Once through SVA I replaced the cat link pipe with a normal link pipe. The bike cats are not restrictive enough to get you through sva

I have bought a small cat from a US ebay seller (ID: deanbarnhart) designed to go up to 1.6 ltrs. It cost me £52 delivered.
MK engineering are selling the exact same one for £80 here
It has 50mm connections.
I also need to know the emmission values for this engine.
To make tuning simpler I have the power commander and the innovate XD-16 gauge and lambda.

Thanks for the replies gents.
Just found the US dealer that i think you may have used:-

Thats the one??

Is the cat just required for SVA or do they need to be fitted for MOT purposes as well?? My old zetec car just needed to pass visible smoke only at MOT but i had a 1977 age related plate on that with a 1994 engine. As said a 2nd link pipe looks a good option then

Cat is required at all times !!!!!!
If you remove it in between, that is up to you!
(we will leave that up to you!)
But on your old setup no cat require as pre 95 engine!
Not sure if your original registration determines the cat test or your new engine age though?
I think it is your reg because in the past, engine swaps have been done deliberately to get around this.

Well I have decided to keep things simple and probably go for the MK Engineering exhaust headers. They advertise one on the website at £200 - is this for the 04 - 06 model as well (too late to ring them now)??
Just need to guage if the angles will suit my Tiger chassis - does anyone know what angle the chassis rails run at down the sides of the MK chassis?? Maybe measurements across the chassis at two points a set distance appart will allow me to calculate the angle.

Cheers
Paul
