IT lives R1 wiring thankyous

Some of the regulars on here will know how much of a ball ache i have been having with my wiring and dare i say it much of that is down to Mr Yamaha himself deciding not to make the looms match the wiring diagrams

However i had one of those *fcuk me* moments at work today and coudnt wait to race home and try out my new thoughs on my wiring - i was as hopefull as every other time i had one of these thoughts over the last 6 weeks but i have learnt not to get my hoped up too high!

And low and behold i had a spark and a repetetive one at that!

Put the plugs back in and it coughed and farted into life.

All i need to do is to make good my temporary 'bits of wire' connections and work out where i am going to put the loom!
So my sincere thanks go to

Malc at Yorkshire Engines for the new loom

Gman for his sensible comments over the last few weeks

Smart51 for letting my test out my black boxes on his car and supplying wiring diagrams and usefull info.

Gregf27 for constant encouragement and getting the beer from the fridge

Jos for getting the ball rolling and getting more excited as time went on as i was getting more depressed.

AndyS for comng over to put my loom back together!

I do have a small problem with it now but that is another topic and is here

It's a nice sound, isn't it? Hearing your engine start up for the first time. Especially if you've had so much trouble with it. What was the problem in the end?

Think the problem was with the cyclelock and the loom possibly having been 'interfered' with before.

New loom from Yorks Engines and a bit of trial and error and following your advice and i got sparks..........and plenty of them.

Even though it was rough as a badgers arse it still sounded good to me
