radiator

I am currently using a standard blackbird raiator, since ive gone down the turbo route the engine runs a lot hotter, if I can hold double the amount of water in a new rad (twice as thick) will it make a big difference?? the standard rad is small, really small.

The more water the better as long as your pump can cope with getting it round the system fast enough, so I'd go for the biggest rad you can fit in there.

2 things you need to achieve with cooling..

1. Get the water out of the block before it boils

2. Get as much heat out of the water as possible before it re-enters the block

I amusing an EWP80 water pump, no thermostat, and a Pace 4 core race rad

Was planning on running standard (bike)water pump, and no thermostat.

will the pump cope??
if I fit an electric one how do I 'do away' with the bike one??

I can recommend the EWP - it certainly does a good job of cooling my V6.

Having said that, if your system is running hot on the standard rad, increasing the size can only improve things, even with the standard pump. I would just stick a bigger rad in there and see how it goes. If there is not enough improvement then try the EWP (there are a few different sizes now) but you will have to remove or disable the existing pump, and I havent a clue what is involved there.

I would start with increasing the rad size, if it still boils up, then you need to consider improving the flow..

I am using a pace 4 core caterham rad, expensive but good.. car was still boiling up with it, so increased water flow with the ewp80.. problem solved...

Once I have finished fitting the final silicon pipes, in wil go the inert coolant
