PRE 95 BEST ENGINE

Im gonna book my SVA for my new car next week, the car only needs an engine change and a weeks worth of SVA changes.

basically I just want to get it on the road asap, Malc has already convinced me zx12r afterwards. woohoo!

plus theres not much room for a CAT

the car is a single seater and weighs 390kg,

so whats your opinions. will an 893 blade float my boat? just for now any others pre 95 that are powerful but not to big lumps

ta chris

ZZR is a good lump, as is the GSXR, although I think the GSXR might be a bit better suited to a car, I've had both as bikes and I reckon it is stronger in the mid range (although it was the earlier oil cooled model I had) but both cracking engines.

Cheers

To be honest, although the others may be a bit more powerful, if you're planning to rip it all out after SVA then I would go for the simplest most well proven route, which has to be a pre-95 blade engine. It might cost you a bit more for the engine but you'll make it back when you sell it, and having things like exhausts, prop adapters, gear linkages etc all off the shelf will be a bonus and probably save you money compared to buying / fabricating similar bits for less popular engines.

Also when you're considering exhausts, think about what shape the ZX12 one you'll fit will be and where it will be mounted, because the last thing you want is to put the ZX12 in afterwards and find you've got a gaping hole in the sidepanel to fill.

cheers

Chris

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

Another vote for the ZZR1100 here!

Can be bought for £250, or less. There is one on the bay at the minute for £175, but I'm 'avin' it as another spare!
