Corner weighting
Finally got round to this job, having extended my shocks an inch. I bought a pair of identical special offer weighing scales, a trolley jack to
lift.lower and used an enormous propane cylinder to pretend to be me,
Originally set by measuring the amound of visible thread on the spring seats, it was around 30kg out on the diagonals, now it's right. Turned
out to be an easy job & the scales seemed accurate and gave repeatable results.
I took my brothers girlfriend out for a quick joyride in it - bizarrely when we got back her mouth was moving but no noise was coming out, she claimed
the acceleration meant she couldn't breathe - excellent. My bro then took his lad for a spin - & stalled about 8 times getting out of the
drive...

PS I took the wheels off & rested the car on its brake discs on blocks of wood. This resuces the weight on the scales, gives accesss to the
adjustment at the back, and gives a repeatable height regardless of tyre type and wear

Did you use 4 scales or two?

just 2 - would have been marginally easier with 4.
Note with 100kgs cylinder on the driver's seat the scales, esp rear right, were round beyond a revolution of the dial. Final weight on my rear
right was 135kg. However the scales sprang back to a good zero afterwards so hadn't 'taken a set'

Hi just one small point. A car should be rolled on to scales not lowered onto and should also be rolled off and on after every adjustment made.
cheers matt

I always 'joggled' it down before reading, the poly bushes have a bit of stiction in them... I'd have fancied doing the adjustment
with the cars weight on the springs even less....!!
Like I said, the readings were logical and repeatable & it was a lot less of a ballache than I was expecting.
Anybody want some bathroom scales....???? ;^)
