Power Commander
Morning all,
Following on from another topic which has got me thinking. In the near future I will be picking up a new injected engine for my Indy. However,
injection is all a bit foreign to me. I know the basics, but am unsure on quite what I'll need to get it running. The engine is a CB1100, the 5
speed tourer version of the blackbird. I can get hold of a wiring loom ans srtock ecu, but how will the different exhaust and air filter effect it?
Can the stock ecu compensate for this or is a power commander/megasquirt or similar required? Oh, emissions are based on the 1980 test, as my car is
already on the road.

if you are using a race can and foam air filter set up the i would deffinately fit a power commander, this will allow fueling to be optimised for the
new set up and avoid possible engine damage caused by weak running

Yup, got a piperX filter and a micron race can. ANy one know of a good/cheap source for a power commander? Are they all the same, or bike specific?

They are bike specific as you just undo a plug on your bike loom and plug them in.
Being a pre 1995 engine you won't need a cat etc, but as you are modifying the exhaust/inlet etc (plus it is in a car), a power commander is
recommended.
Running any bike engine lean is not a good idea as things start melting!
I bought mine off ebay second hand.
