R1 Electrics
Hi.
I recently bought a YEC Racing Loom and ECU to use on my R1.
Am I right in thinking that the YEC ECU can be used with the OEM Loom and that any R1 lock-set can now be used?
Cheers

Thats a bit too specialist a question to be answered on here, though you never know. I'd suggest phoning YEC to find out.
I looked up YEC on google. It seems that they sell loads of nice things, but for large amounts of cash. The most interesting things are the
programmable ECU, that you have, and brand new 2007 R1 engines, complete including throttlebodies. £3400 though.

Sorry - should have expained. YEC are the racing wing of Yamaha.
I bought the racing loom and ECU of eBay (bargain price!) as I could not make use of the OEM ECU I already had (no key/lockset).
My understanding is that the YEC system has no immobiliser/code, so should be compatible with any lockset.
I'll find out next month I suppose!

I too was stuggling as how to get rid of the original R1 switch, so I could fit a battery issolation switch, Then I found an article on checking
continuity of the R1 ignition switch which said when on there should be continuity between blue/red and blue, between brown/blue and red and between
blue/yellow and blue/black problem solved I just joined the wires as described above.
