PowerCommander 3R Help Please (5PW R1)
(RIGHT SECTION THIS TIME - DOH!)
Just fired her up after doing a lot of wiring (mostly new gauges, speedohealer, gear indicator etc) and also swapping my Techlusion unit for my
(second hand) PC3R.
Fired up first time so I initially thought all was well.
Tried to rev it and NOTHING happens.
Connected up the laptop and it shows the rpm and the fuel injector duty cycle etc but nothing on the throttle position sensor.
So I assume its the TPS side of things, I removed the TPS part of the PC3R and put the normal connectors back, got nothing (don't think the PC3R
powered up either) so could just be that it takes it power from those connectors.
Will now try removing all the PC3R connectors and just make sure it revs when back to normal.
In the mean time did anyone who fitted this one have this problem?
I see there are "set throttle position" settings but fiddling with these doesn't seem to do much.
Any help from someone who has fitted one of these would really be appreciated as I'd like to get this running today for the weekend.
TIA

Now sorted, open and closed values were nearly right (34 is correct for closed, it was 194 for open but 191 is the max I saw so changed it).
The throttle cable was not being pulled properly by me - this was suspected once I put everything back and it still didn't rev.
Feel a bit of a plonker but at least my PC3R (now quite rare) isn't boned.
Cheers for the help as I wasn't sure how to set the throttle. I don't have the 9V batt thing so I had to do it VERY quickly after turning
the ignition on for the open throttle (engine not running!).

Yeah if you could dig out that diagram it would be useful.
Not sure why they don't have it accessible with just the ignition on. Suppose it would drain your battery a bit quicker but thats your own
fault for sitting there with the ignition on for ages
I was lucky enough to be given a map for the same engine, filter and exhaust (and PC3R) that I have which was already fully setup for both fuel and
ignition timing on a rolling road. Someone else has used it and got it checked and it was fine (clearly not all cars etc are the same) but it was
still plenty safe (i.e. didn't go lean or too much advance).
They made 140BHP at the wheels IIRC which is good power I think for a 5PW R1. Although rolling road figures vary from place to place.
