Neutral Switch
Had a bash at starting my engine again. Figured I'd better sort it sooner rather than later and now I'm getting no neutral light whereas I
did before.Bit of jiggery pokery and I think the switch is knackered so I'll have to get a new one but I was just wondering out of interest if
anyone knew how the thing works?

I'm not sure which engine you are using, but on the ZZR1100 it's a circular disc with a insulated material on it in a C shape (with a bit
missing) and a spring loaded contact.
When you are in gear the disc is in an orientation where the contact hits the insulation. When in neutral it makes contact with the metal, makes a
route to earth and the light comes on.
I've lost the neutral light a few times, but it's usually the lead coming off! Start simple, check the lamp, then the lead, before
thinking about the more complex bits.
IMHO

The neutral switch on the C1 engine is just like a screw with what looks like a slightly differnt core running through into the gearbox area.Haynes
book says to check for continuity between the contact and the crank case and I have none so thats a fail apparently. If I touch the contact straight
to earth then, then the light should come on eh?
