Probshaft
Hi all, I have a standard Sierra prop with the centre bearing and rubber ring thing at the front. I also have the MK adaptor ring to fit my Fireblade
gearbox shaft, the problem is I dont have the bit it bolts to.
From looking at photos of other peoples cars it looks like bec props are Sierra with the end cut off and then maybe the rear of a different smaller
prop slid in and welded up.
Im hoping to build my own prop as cheap as possible so was wondering where I can get that end bit with the universal joint and a 4 bolt fitting ring
to take the adaptor or do I just have to buy it from MK.

Get a new one made. It's not worth taking the risk of it letting go at 100mph. Ouch!

If your adapter flange is the same as this
I can sell you one of these
to replace the rubber bit on the end of the sierra prop.
Technical bit: 1140 series universal joint to fit 2" x 0.64" tube. £25 + delivery

why are people on here so against making your own prop?
edit to add. i dont see why anyone shouldent as they normally would break under full stress due to the torque ie 1st year as your accelerating and it
wouldent be going all that fast

It looks like they have the front universal on a tube slid inside the old tube so even if the weld breaks it will just spin inside without being able
to go anywhere. I've made one in my youth for a 5 speed 2L Sierra in a Chevette and it took a load of abuse without ever breaking. As long as I
get a good weld round it I reckon it should hold fine. Basically the more stuff I do myself the sooner I have spare money for the essentials such as
