Engine when hot makes a noise!!! HELP

When my engine is hot it makes a ticking noise...

when i press clutch the noise goes away.

its in the gearbox.....

Dunno what happens if i put it in gear....

guess no noise.

anyone ideas..

Could be wear in the clutch basket, seen that b4, allows the plates to rattle a bit.

Agree with Alex. Seem to recall that the cushion springs in the friction plate used to rattle when they wore a bit. Don't know whether that applies to your configuration though. Cheers, Pewe

Don't worry about it. The cause is as-above!

One thing that can reduce it is to blance your carbs/throttle bodies as it causes uneven running, most noticeable at tickover, which in turn causes the clutch basket to vibrate. It won't do any harm though, but balancing will help your motor start easier too!

Sounds to me like a badly adjusted clutch cable (too tight). Make sure you have some slack on the cable when not depressed.

If it is anything like my old Honda CBR600 then it could be the Cam chain tensioner. If it is a hydraulic one that isn't working correctly then this could cause the chain to whip a little. This was a common fault on the CBR but it doesn't really cause any long term problems, just an annoying noise.

is it possible that it could be a bend vork?????

p.s. this engine has cam drives sow no chain..also it has clutch springs/basket/steel/fiber plates design...
