ZX9R - Started for the first time!
Hi there
Well, after my first attempt to start the engine a few days ago see ( http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=69036 )
I stripped the carbs and rebuilt them, took the advice of a full choke and primed each cylider with a little petrol.
I then cranked it over, and a fter a few coughs it burst into life. All gauges working as they should and ran it up to temperature.
Nice to know it goes!
I'll do the honours and post a clip on U tube at one point
Cheers
Ian

And how long had it been stood? It's good to see something happen after a long time waiting.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Took the main needles out, main jets and holders. I used carb cleaner and an airline.
That said, they looked fairly clean and I reckon if I'd used the choke and primed the cylinders the first time it may of started.
