What have I been trying to pump fuel through

as title asks
98 or so R1 on carbs
I assumed the elbow at the top of the left hand carb was the fuel inlet, tried pumping fuel into carbs today prior to starting only to see (eventualy thought it was taking a lot to prime them) a jet of the precious fluid shooting out of a small pipe just above the throttle position sensor
many thanks
Tony

Breather or the water pipe.

There must be another fuel pipe or 2. My zx9 carbs have 2 fuel inlets feeding carbs each.

wee pipe above TPS is a water pipe - other connection to it is up on the left. Fuel inlet is near the bottom, a single brass pipe for a 5/16 hose. The two big black plastic pipes are the breathers, at the top between 1&2 and 3&4 - they have elbow filters on

Cheers bob
seems I was pumping the fuel in one end and it was coming out of the small pipe.
I assume it's some sort of pre-heater for the carbs and I can get away with not using them
