ZX12R bike as a donor
Having looked at the previous thread about the Busa with the holed engine here http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?fid=36 , whats
people's thoughts on buying a ZX12R as a comlete bike and selling all the unrequired parts via classifieds / fleabay ?? Was looking at
something like this...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KAWASAKI-ZX12-ZX-12-ZX-12-NINJA-2001-with-DYMAG-wheels_W0QQitemZ110175975911QQihZ001QQcategoryZ9807QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZ

Obviously thats got none standard wheels which would probably sell well but say i bought a standard bike for around £2750 - £3000, would selling the
parts make it a good option for sourcing an engine??

I think you really want the 2003+ engine (more power and torque I think?)... Not a bad plan on selling bits... Just makre sure you know what its all
worth and how to take it apart without damaging anything...

More power and torque - deffo need more power and torque so thanks for that. Just got me thinking that so many bikes are written off due to either
crunched plastics or cracked frames - neither of which i will be needing. Add in all the other individual parts i wouldnt need and started to wonder
if it could return enough to make it a good proposition.
Time to watch a few items on ebay as research then maybe i think. Frame and logbook (trader) - £750 !!

There was a 2003 engine (and any other bits you wanted) that went a few weeks back for less than £900. A real bargain if you ask me. I really want a
ZX12 lump, but I need a car to put it in first!
