Mx5 chassis Haynes roadster LocostBuilders

Hi all
Just starting down the road to building my first roadster and was looking at ideas for donors , considering using Mazda MX5 . Has anyone seen any different chassis plans or any pointers where to find a different manual etc

This is what I'm working to, although you need the 'build a sports car on a budget' to get the full information. These plans are an addendum to the book so that MX5 parts can be used instead of Sierra.

Hi, and welcome

There is a guy on the Haynes Forum who lives in Devon and went through exactly the same questioning about two years ago, see this post:

http://forums.haynes.co.uk/showthread.php?t=14180

Perhaps it could be a good idea to get in touch with him? If you can't register to the forum (that happens nowadays), let me know and I can be the intermediary the time you get in touch together by personal email adresses/phone numbers, etc.

The Saturn plans hosted buy Slimy38 is certainly the best way to go for a Haynes Roadster with MX-5 donor if you want to make the chassis yourself. But as he says, you"ll need the book, you certainly can find second hand, even perhaps on here.

Otherwise, Sam Fletcher Racing is now proposing a chassis based on the Mazda MX5 as a donor. No website, but a phone number: 07495546601 and an email address: trevorfletcher46@gmail.com or see this post for more details: http://forums.haynes.co.uk/showthread.php?t=14230

Hope that will help
