I am in the planning stages of a Fiat 126 BEC - full spaceframe/Coilovers all round / Locost front suspension / Big Brakes etc.
engine will be ZX12R
Diff Kit - probably an MK Chain drive
This kit will be for 90% road & occasional race use - RWYB/Hillclimb etc.
The car will be purchased and supplied to the builder (retropower) who will mount the modded bodyshell onto the chassis, he will also fab in the
engine & its respective manifold & exhaust system.
I will then finish off everything else, floors, wiring, braking ,fuelling and so on....
To produce a roadworthy car that is IVA friendly what should I be considering when taking on a heavily modified chassis/car project.
A Q plate doesnt bother me, Im talking about the general safety issues concerned with major car surgery when It comes to the IVA.
Any other considerations to a project like this I should consider ?
Thanks
PS Nat & Callum are really helpful !
Mental Health Act 1983?
I love it!!! I wouldn't get anywhere near fitting in a Fiat 126 but a neighbour's got one and whenever I see it I have similar thoughts. I
even sat down on the pavement next to it and there's no way in hell I'd ever fit
Hahahaha - Yes Im definately mental health section 136 material...
I have a saying - "Different is good"
different is good!
Theres new rules on fuel tank placement.
Start a build thread as you get pictures, this thing sounds awesome.

There is a lot of Fiat BEC stuff going on in Poland, they have banned the bike engine little Fiats as they are too quick !!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmQGIk8rAEM&feature=related
I have some pics of one or two of them, and the fuel cell is going to be small as there is very little room anywhere for it.
The IVA manual is a rivetting read as Ive discovered.
And yes to build thread, I have other commitments over winter but will hopefully going for it in the New year once the planning/costing research has
been done.
Im particularly interested in hearing from folk who have chopped up a tin top and fitted a bike engine like this one Im planning, and then put it
through an IVA/SVA ??
i want one!!
Only one bike engine? as I'm sure you know retropower do have some experience of spaceframed 126's with bike engines in the boot

There are stacks of clips on Youtube with these Minicar slaloms & hillclimbs.
Theres an English section and also a "Our Cars" section called Nasze Samochody, check it out.
