Which is inlet/outlet fuel pressure regulator

Does it matter which is the inlet?

You need the feed from the pump into one end of the fuel rail, then the regulator on the opposite end of the rail connected with the upward pointing connector, and the left pointing connector going to the return pipe.

Following on from my last question, is it preferable to mount the regulator on the bulkhead which doesn't move or is it okay to put it on the end of the fuel rail which might vibrate a bit with the engine?

The oe location is on the end of the rail, but it should be fine elsewhere if it is more practical and will be less susceptible to vibration.

Thanks for that Dave. It will probably more convenient for the plumbing to mount the regulator on the bulkhead.

I'm using a DTA ecu and Jenvey direct to head throttle bodies. I have already had the ecu mapped and the engine set up on a dyno and still using the standard Focus exhaust manifold the engine made 136bhp compared with the nominal 100bhp for the standard engine. Torque was up as well. I paid £100 for the engine from a scrapyard and have done nothing to it. The great thing is that nobody wants these engines which make them excellent value. All alloy and only weigh 80kg.
