Unleaded Nozzle Size

I'm planning on fabricating my own unleaded filler cap restrictor for SVA/IVA.

Can anyone confirm what diameter it should be? I've read somewhere 3/4" is the actual nozzle size, but as this was an american site, I'm not sure it's the same for Europe?

Needs to be 23.6mm or less, and as close to the top of the filler cap tube as possible. According to SVA manual 15.2.1.b

Why the insane level of accuracy I know not, though it's close(ish) to 15/16"

I guess I could probably get away with 22mm as a more sensible size?

Sorry in advance for the hijack! I have a fabricated ally tank with a screw on type knurled ally cap. Is it possible to get a restrictor to fit this type of neck or do I need to machine one?

Do you have to have a restrictor in the fuel filler even if your using a pre-cat 1993 engine as they didn't have to run on unleaded (or did they?)? I was wondering if i could get away without one on my Robin Hood.

You only need the restrictor if you have a cat.

yep restrictor only if a cat is fitted. Wish I knew that before buying and fitting one

Oh well at least it should stop me putting the wrong fuel in when I experience one of my many stupid moments

22mm was less than 23.6mm the last time I checked It will be fine

hmmm, don't much see the point in these restrictors any more, since you can't get leaded fuel to poison a catalytic convertor anyway.

unless its to stop you putting diesel in, in which case, why does it matter if you have a cat or not? it should then be in all fuel fillers surely?
