Ive had a few searches b cant find anything!

On a standard 2.0l pinto, with a single webber, what would be the rough top speed?

also what sort of acceleration would i be ready to expect?

Cheers

If you are building a 7 then the gearing is very important, diff, gearbox, tyre size.
If you do or don't have a windscreen, that makes a different.
Weight of the finished car, very big influence.
All i can say is that it will be much quicker than the Donor but you will quickly want some more power.

Not many 7's get past 120mph in standard donor trim and acceleration depends on weight big time but 7 or 8 secs

With a 2l zetec, I might have hit 120 yesterday and 60 is within 6sec. I was beaten by lack of power and wind resistance not gearing.

My pinto still pulls hard at 110mph and is a way off running out of revs and ooomph. 0-60 about 5 secs, but then its slightly tweaked...

Std should see you in the region of about 6-7 secs to 60 and 120ish top speed. Plenty quick enough

would agree it the gearing and brick like aero dynamics, 120 is about where its at 1.8 zetec does that, 130 is achievable but with serious tuning I would think. They all appear quick to 110 then the hit the wall and ever so slowly creap up

when i was running a 2.1 pinto on R1 carbs, fr32 kent cam, ported and polished by vulcan racing, type 9 gearbox, cosworth 3.62 LSD at the rear, tyres are 205/50 on 15's, no window screen- i hit 130 and then it started to struggle. scared the s**t out of me as well!
