HI all, I have a telephone called today from "Mike" the only inspector that deals with self build and kit build vehicles and he has ask me
for PLANS that I followed to build my vehicle!!!
I have heard of this before but thought it was hot air however having been asked directly to produce a set from the inspector himself I better get
drawing.
all good fun
What are you trying to register then?
I've never heard of that before.
I dare you to do an Isigonis and draw it on a napkin.

A self build spaced / steel frame vehicle.
Not required for sva, so don't give him anything.
They test a car on what is presented on the day

If they want proof of your build, then photos will do. Drawings are an entirely different thing.
I told "Mike" that I have all build photos and pics of all jigs to build the chassis / suspension every receipt for all parts but he still
wants drawing on which I built the vehicle.
He did explain that they can be hand drawn by myself but needed all the same.
The DVLA check the colour, the number of seats and doors plus the chassis and engine number. Enough to officially recognise the vehicle. They may
also want proof that it was a self build. They do not need plans.
Give him a bit of something to shut him up if you want an easy life but I wouldn't go to any great lengths to give him plans.
I have a few engineering drawings on A4 paper from when I was planning by build. I would photo copy 2 or 3 of them but no more.
