Cant answer your question.... but what sort of prices have they been giving you?

when i was 19 i got my first insurance from footman James. link

I think for my westy i used graham skyes link

I found back then putting a parent on the insurance helped - even though they i did not trust them to drive it!!!

Also try Osbourne and Sons link

Hi Will

You could look at Footman James and Graham Sykes as alternatives.

One thing I would say is how good they are at MSM. They are what I would call "Old Fashion Brokers", a small concern I would guess and you can always get through to the same person who really knows what they are talking about and isn't speaking from a script.

I've just terminated my Insurance with them (I've just sold the Phoenix) and I actually got a refund. I have never come across this with any of the so called mainstream insurers.

I also think that in the event of a claim, MSM would be very good to be with. I did compare them with AF and although they were slightly dearer this was offset for me by the confidence I had in them.

Best of luck with whichever you choose.

don't use AAA as when I had my crash in the Falcon they argued every point, offered peanuts for the car which I eventually got them to accept the right amount but they could have not been more unhelpful

Try all you can find, because they all seem to be good for some people, bad for others. For example I wouldn't go to Osborne on principle because they had build-up insurance money from me on the basis that the balance of the year's premium would be deducted from "full" insurance when I was on the road. The on the road insurance was so uncompetitive that I went elsewhere
