sending sva forms ?
chris_smith - 30/12/08 at 04:04 PM

hi guys/gals, just printed off the sva forms and all seems clear as mud, but my question is as im trying to get it done pre iva should i send them off today with a date around march or should i wait till im closer say mid february and send the forms then, just thinking it may be easier to get the date i want by sending forms now rather than later.

what are your thoughts please

chris

Id send it now. It will get you a nice well advanced test and give you a goal to aim for.

There may be a rush on nearer iva time.

send them, you don't have to take the first appointment they offer you, just put a date like mid Feb onwards or similar,

FEZ1025 - 30/12/08 at 04:47 PM

I'd send them now, it's taken 4 weeks for mine to be passed to Nottingham who have yet to ring me to set the appointment. Not expecting anything before next week obviously, but mine got knocked back for not enough proof of amateur build.

anyone got the link handy of where to get the forms? Save me looking it up.

Think I should send mine off too.

Hi everyone, I'm also filling in SVA forms at the moment.
I think the form on the link from coozer is out of date.
I got mine from the VOSA website - www.vosa.gov.uk/vosacorp/forms/vehicletestforms/vehicletestforms.htm#P91_2214

They look very similar except the latest version has a note added to Q15, which now says you only need the axle weights for Goods vehicles. But then seems to contradict itself by saying that the weights are needed for all vehicles in class A.

SVA form Q15
SVA form Q15

Anyone know if the axle weights are needed. If so, are there any standard figures for an MK Indy with Pinto engine ?

Just been to the Carlisle VOSA office today and the bloke there (the actual tester and very helpful) said I only need form SVA1 and the Single Vehicle Approval - Amateur Build Declaration form. Nothing said about form V627/1 as mentioned above. What is the situation with this as I want to get everything off now for a later Feb/early March test as well.

You need this one for the DVLA registering process (well I did)

Sent all my stuff off just before Chrimbo, SVA1; amateur build declaration; copies of reciepts of major items and around 12-13 photos, (and a cheque of course!!). Got the reply back 4 days later, ( including a weekend!), to say that the app. had been forwarded to Southampton.

Regards Q.15. I left it blank as I too read it to be for goods vehicles. It came back after about 2 weeks asking me for the front and rear axle weights and the gross vehicle weights.
Also I never included any receipts or pictures because it didn't ask for any so I had to send them as well.

Hi guys, sorry to hijack but in regards to the photos do they want a finished car aswell? I want to do the paperwork but not quite finished building (no bodywork on yet!).

What are your thoughts?

Cheers,
Shaun

All I sent were these 6 photo's on an A4 sheet.

Which are out of date, as it has new front & rear brakes, completely rewired but still doesn't have any seats, instruments or body panels other than those ali ones, in fact the rear arches are no longer on, but hopefully that will be sorted over the weekend.
