In my case that bit took 3-4 weeks.

I went to Edmonton and it was great (once I found it- definately worth a recky the day before, or take your satnav!!). There's a big signpost off the north circular to show the test centre but after that you're on your own and it's a wiggly route!!! The journey there wasn't helped by the fact that an entire section of the north circular was closed and they were diverting everyone via Wood Green. Great I was almost late for the test (especially after getting lost near the test centre).

The tester I had was more than fair and infact was passing things that I wouldn't have I'm not complaining, he was a top bloke.

Definately worth (if possible) getting someone to drive in convoy with you if you're driving to the test. My bro convoyed on my journey and it was nice to have some moral support at the test. Unfortunately though, he was right close to my car when my baseball cap flew off when I hit the 50mph bit of the N.Circular and he ran it over

I had my old car tested at edmonton, top guy there, really help full, my headlights were pointing all over the place, my emmisions were out and my sump was leaking and left a oil slick, and it passed.

He said after, if the car and you are well prepaired and its not a pile off poo your presenting to them, there'll do there up most to get you through.

At one point i was adjusting one light whilst the sva guy was doing the other.

Yep it is a bit hard to find, but i work near there so new were it was, ps there is a cafe just round the corner

hi all, i am going to trailer it up there, and i am getting my uncle to drive the tow veichle (seeing that it is his motor towing the trailer) and trailer, and me and my dad will just go and set in the car and have chat while he drives there. i am sure he has a satnav if not i will use my sisters tom tom. as well my uncle is a taxi driver, so i hope i get there on time and he does not switch on the metter.lol

i took my indy to a mot station and set up all my headlights, while i do them rough in the gragre and he said they where fine so no worries there, as well i checked my emmsions and i am well under on those.

the mot sation checked teh braking effecnicy as well and that is well over, as well the mot station went through the whole and car said it would fly through a mot.

thanks

Can't speak for Edmonton but at Nottingham they ring you within a couple of days of getting the paperwork from Swansea. But with holidays & post it maybe a little longer, I got my V5C back from from VOSA Tuesday & a note saying they'd passed papers to Nottingham, so I'm expecting a call next week.

In my defence I normally only wear one because I'm rapidly developing slap-head status and don't fancy having as many different examples of pre-malignant skin tumours on my head as most shiny-tops Although actually, on that day it was pissing it down and I was wearing it to try and stop the rain hitting my glasses and causing zero-vis status!!
