roughly how many photos should i send off to the sva, I printed of 70

What are they looking for in the photos, so i know what ones to put in

think to yourself what important parts can't you now see? steering column inside the dash? brake/fuel pipes in the tunnel, wiring behind the dash…

It’s that kind of thing the photo's are for

Is this the point where you’re going to say you took 70 photos of the built car posed in different locations?

Rather than printing all of you photo's why not send a cd with them all on. I rang VOSA and asked if this was ok and was told it was, so I did, saved all my ink in my printer.

I don't remember sending photo's to the SVA?
Though I did take one ot two with me of inside the tunnell and the seatbelt mounts, things that couild not be seen easily

As mentioned above it's photos of areas and parts tha the examiner will not be able to easily access.

so inside the tranmission tunnel etc. I took 10 printed out photos and a CD of remainder incase asked.

I mentioned at the beginning of the test that these photos were avaialbe if it made his job easier and he then didn't ask to look at any of them.

I suppose that the train of thought is why would you provide a photo showing a failure point.

hope that helps

The photo's that you send to VOSA with the SVA form are just to show the car in various stages of the build. So that it looks like you built it and not somebody else.

It's all because of some manufacturers building cars for customers and then letting them take the car for test as home-built. The bloke at Swansea wouldn't know a ball joint from a wishbone.

Take photo's of inaccessable bits to the SVA test. It might save you having to strip stuff off for them to see.

I sent 35 with application form, took laptop with me for SVA itself but wasn't required

Hang on - everyone is talking at cross purposes:

OP

What is this for? The SVA test itself, or to send off with the form to VOSA?

Clarify that, as the answer to the questions are different.

The photos are, when you apply for SVA, to proove that you built the vehicle and that it was not done by a company. In my humble opinion, receipts can be proof enough that you built it but my receipts go back near on 11 years!!!! so there can be little doubt that I have built it.

I just sent 40 off at the part to arrange SVA. Mine are of various key parts of the build . I have included as many of possible with myself in to show it was me who built the car and always at the same location. Some one last week also mentioned signing the back of the photo.

It was the photo's to send off to the vosa with the sva form, ill take my laptop to the acutal sva with over 300 photos, which i did on my last sva, it was just what to send to vosa in the post.

I sent off just general build shots showing it in stages in my garage etc, pictures of lawnmowers and cups of tea everywhere like a home garage.

FEZ1025 - 29/1/09 at 06:57 PM

I sent 6 pictures of it as a part build sat on my drive, test is on Monday.
