hi all, i had my build up inspection wenesday, which was a joke after taking a day off, and hiring a trailer and a driver to take the kit up there, for the inspector to write/tick off the chassis number and engine number and write down the millage reading down, it took less than 2mins. but to day i got through the tax disc and the registration number, so i can get my number plates made and put them on and drive.

so anybody got any ideas how to fit a standard size plate on a mk or know what size plate i can get which will fit?

thanks

stuart

Well done and congrats.
For the plate I just made a couple of strips of ally and bent at an angle to drop down from the bottom of the nose cone.

If you want to make a smaller number plate than a full size buy one with the EU country logo on the LH side. The letters are a bit smaller on these. Then cut the logo off the LH end, a bit off the RH end and a bit off the top. Leave the buttom with the maker's post code on it.
It may not be 100% legal, but I doubt it will be questioned.

I know there's requirement for lettering size but I'm not aware of anything regarding actual plate size...
