unleaded insert
FASTdan - 13/2/09 at 02:53 PM

I was thinking i needed one for our mk, but i have just spotted in the CBS '09 catalogue that it is only required for engines that are post '93.

Is this definitely the case? we;re running an '88 pinto, in which case we'd be fine

Thought it was post 95, but either way you don't need one

You only have to have it if you have a catalytic converter fitted.

I was told by the examiner that i didnt
need the insert that i had fitted to my indy
with a 93 pinto.He said no cat,no reducer.
jake_truck didnt need one with his 88 pinto
and neither did my mate dave with his 84 lump.

That seems very strange given the amount of folks who make the mistake in both directions.
i.e petrol into diesel car and diesel into petrol car???????????

I passed without one with a 94 engine.

As said if you need a cat (post 95) then u need one fitted. With your 88 engine you definatlet wont need one.
