When using a collapsable bottom end of the collumn aswell as the collapsable top part ie sierra collumn, do you still need to incorporate the 10-30deg deflection angle?
Yes. My tester stood at the front of the car with the bonnet off to check where its likely to go in the case of a frontal collision.
mine did the same^^^^^

Bugger!
That's depressed me now. I don't think I have quite 10degs, but thought with the collapsable column I'd be OK.
That's a serious set back.
I have to say, I've been loosing my enthusiasm for the build lately - this doesn't help

i thought the same as you bilbo, but if i looked at my column from the passenger side you could see more than a 10deg deflection, but mr sva didnt
accept that, and didnt accept the deflection till under the car looking at where it fastened to the rack, and only then agreed that there was
deflection

Looks like I'm going to have to re-think the whole steering system
Edited to say, I've just been out and tried to measure the angle again - it may well be just over 10deg. Phew!
