Ooops 91mph on the m25 in Essex. Anyone know what I'm going to be looking at for fines and points?
under a ton should be fixed penalty on a motorway unless there are extenuauauautiinng circummstancscses
IIRC anyway
Naughty boy
you may get an sp50 3points and a £60 fine if your really really lucky but chances are your going to court for a hefty fine and 6-12 points.
have you had a letter or did you get pulled over? if you were pulled over and didn't get an on the spot fixed penalty then its off to court you
go.
3 points and £60 fine. Doh.
Further to ash's comments I imagine they will send you notice in the post and you will, most likely, be able to plead guilty by post as well. It saves the courts time.
Got caught by mobile camera coming up to the Dartford crossing. Just got the letter today but was wondering if this going to be more than a fixed penalty. Oh well fingers crossed.
You weren't driving a truck or bus were you ?
if not 91 's a bit pathetic (usual caveats aply, we cannot condone law breaking etc etc)
Public flogging and Stoned!!!
Little more thana wrap on the knuckles...
S
i got caught by a police Range Rover the other year doing 93 on the A1M, 3 points and £60 fine.
Not proud.
Craig.
as others have said, under 95 (not 100 as many think! ) is normally regarded as fixed penalty, so not too bad

If you were on a Motorcycle, it'll be 6 Months Jail, a hefty fine and the loss of your licence and motorcycle. You'll need to be
Reprogrammed, given such obviously risky behaviour. If you had a child pillion, then in addition, your child will be taken into care and you'll
be on some offenders register of one type or another. Basically, your life will be over.
If you were driving an Audi, on the phone, shuffling paper, it'll be a hefty fine, nothing else.
If you're a member of the Political Classes, then a commendation.
Seriously - wait for the Postman. If/When the notice arrives, unless you can dispute it, simply pay up. It'll be a financial/licence penalty and
not an extreme one.
I'll second that. Below 95 is a fixed penalty. Very nice policeman stopped me for doing 105 MPH on the M1 at the beginning of the 90s. He also
suggested I shouldn't overtake on the inside (a long story, I certainly don't advocate inside overtakes).
When I explained that I was rushing back to my batallion (yes really) to enplane to the Gulf War he did me for 95 and forgot about the overtake, fixed
penalty!
So there are nice coppers about! Just have crap laws to enforce!
Avoid court, stick it under 95!
My fully comp insurance went up £25 a year too. But that was 5 years ago now.
Bearing in mind the current topical debate it might be worth enclosing a covering letter to see if there is any possibility of claiming back any
imposed fine as expenses - if you back it up explaining it was a genuine oversight you should get off scott free

I got caught by patrol car doing 93 (iirc) on A1. he did tell me that the first reading was 96, but since the second was lower i was facing 3 points
and £60 fine. Had he got me on the first reading he said i would have been summonsed to court. i didnt bother asking him to prove calibration etc as i
was speeding so it was fair.
Again not proud but lucky. Ive been a lot more careful ever since and favour palying the 'how high can i get the mpg reading' rather than
'how quick can i get home' game which has tamed my already slow driving style somewhat.

). Got a year ban and
a big fine. The amusing bit was that it took the police a while to catch up with her so the incident slip given to her at the road side read
I got caught on the M6 at carlise a couple of years ago doing 98...
5 points £200 fine.
