
Just been for a quick spin - drives fine but couldnt get the car back in to neutral when i got home (BEC R1).
Trouble is the MOT is booked for next week, do you think this will cause it to fail? Not sure how Mr.Tester will view this, seeing as he probably
hasnt seen a BEC before anyhow.
rock it backwards and forwards with the handbreak off !!!! and change gear at the same time with no clutch it will drop in (my bmw bike is a bugger
for it),this is common on bikes dont worrie about it its no big deal.

Does it go into neutral at all?
can't imagine he'll be best pleased, if he's an arse he might refuse to test it. If he's understanding it might be ok

I think the tester might want neutral when doing the emissions, just fix the car before you end up crashing it
Possibly a bit of clutch (oil) drag?
Hopefully this won't seem condecending, but I always try and get neutral moments before you come to a standstill
Make sure your clutch is properly adjusted and free when disengaged. If the clutch is dragging the dogs will refuse to allow the gears to move correctly and neutral will be a beggar to get into.
Get it into first, blip the throttle slightly and slip it into neutral as the revs hit the peak and is should go in fine, the testers are probably
familiar with this method if they've tested a few BECs.

Fit a proper engine and box! As said the tester is well within his rights to refuse to test it
Its not the tester being an arse, its a legal requirement and a saftey issue.
