A quick question.
There has several mentions of induction noise while undergoing SVA. What are the implications regarding the test.
I understood the only noise test was 101dB at the exhaust.
Reason I ask is I have two 62mm throttle bodies howling 10" behind my left ear...

The only test they do is to stand a noise meter a fixed distance from the exhaust outlet, at 30 degrees to where it's pointing. If this meter
reads over the limit then you've failed, whatever the source of the noise!
Incidentally, rally drivers have problems with their noisy gearboxes (straight-cut gears)! They get noise tested with their heels up and gears
selected.

2 thottle bodies? what engine you using...a bike twin?

It is an SP1 and it does sound a touch 'fruity'.
Gotta fit a different zorst and cat for SVA.

They run the engine to 3/4 revs and test the noise then, but when i went for my sva the tacho was reading wrong. For some reason it thought i had 3
cylinders not four so it was reading high and when they revved it to 7000 sih rpm it was actually only doing 5500 - much quieter. i soon fixed the
error when i left the sva centre (if you know what i mean )
Ahhhhhh! Interesting. Tell me just out of interest Brooky, what engine did you use, and where abouts did you look to 'solve' this 3/4 revving tacho problem?
have the same problem on my revcounter too. it reads 6000 rpm at 70 mph, but the engine is not revving hard, so how to fix please.............?
At Beveley they use an independent clip on job rev' counter on one of the 'leads.........

Its a fireblade engine and it wasnt really a problem, the tacho has a button to tell it how many cylinders the engine has - it then counts that many
pulse etc. I simply told it i had a 3 cylinder engine for a while thats all. When i had passed i retold it i had a 4 cylinder engine. It was a scam to
pass the noise regs.
I take it the tacho is not part of a set of standard blade clocks?
