What's a realistic cost to get a complete car through IVA?

My car is getting close to finished. I already have pretty much all the parts I need so just trying to get my head round how much the
IVA/registration is realistically going to cost me. So far I have -
IVA - £450
Setting up (emmisions etc) - £100
Trailer hire - £50
IVA kit hire (exhaust etc) £100
Re-test fee - £90 (a bit defeatist I know but trying to be sensible)
Trailer and IVA kit hire again - £150
DVLA first registration fee - £55
First year tax - £200?
So potentially about £1195, unless I've missed anything?
The reason I ask is the missus has just sat me down infront of our finances for the next few months and with holidays to pay for looks like I
won't be able to afford to IVA the Indy till the end of the year at the very earliest which is bloody annoying since I've just taken some
time off work to spend in the garage

Cancel the holidays. Non essential item.
Make your own trailer, make sure it passes first time but the bummer is the £205 tax and £450 IVA

Yeah the holidays are a bit of a sticking point, we were supposed to go travelling in Thailand for a month this year but cancelled due to problems in
Bangkok and then booked 2 holidays and a festival to compensate. Someone who died left us a little bit of money and we'd said we would put it
towards a nice holiday rather than pee it up the wall but ended up spending about three times what we were left. All my own fault for being so
susceptible to female manipulation!!
I really do hope it passes first time but trying to be realistic I suppose. I guess I could drive it there but was hoping to go to Nottingham which
would be a 1.5 hour (at least) drive in a car never before seen on the road which I don't think I coudl stomach. I could go to Oldham instead I
suppose but that would mean going on the M62 in rush hour which I don't fancy either!

Insurance as you wont get it taxed so thats another few bob

drive it to the test centre, tax it for 6 months thats all the reasonable use you will get with our climate

Already insured so not worried about that, only an extra £15 a month over my build insurance IIRC.
Coozer - yeah Beverley is closer in distance but actually takes longer to get to than Nottingham. I really wanted to go to Nottingham as I know they
do a lot of MK's and come highly recommended. I suppose they all (in theory) should be the same but I don't believe they are for one
minute! Chadderton is less than 40 minutes away in theory but I would have to go M62 early morning which is a massive gamble. Leeds VOSA is 6 miles
away........but they don't do IVA

What about set-up and a couple of track days this summer to get some use and give it a good shake down, then IVA next spring?
Can anyone on here help you out with trailer/transport?

Whats in the "IVA kit" that you're hiring twice at £100 a go? Is it bits you can make cheaply or beg/borrow/steal from people on this
forum?? Remember bits that are only staying on for the iva don't have to be as good as you would have for 'permenant' use, as long as
they are good enough - Almost certainly you can find a mild steel/rusty/dented silencer from somewhere for not much ... and of course sell on the
'iva kit' once you're through
