Hello chaps,

From what I understand, aftermarket steering wheels seem to cause some problems at IVA time, so I'm planning to use the sierra one for the IVA test, however the one I've got is a bit on the agricultural side.

Do any other ford wheels fit the sierra column? If so any idea what has the smallest wheel?

Even better, does anybody have one I could borrow for the test?

A Mk3 XR3 or Series 1 RS Turbo wheel fits.. I have one on mine...

most people use the standard sierra one..

it gives a bigger exemption area for the test.

Smaller sierra wheels on the later cars with power steering

Aftermarket wheels can usually be made to pass IVA reasonably easily, my mountney will pass now, I drilled the spoke cover rivets off, radiused all the edges then wet n dried and polished it back up, countersunk the bolts and bobs your uncle.

Others can be done with a simple foam on mdf or plastic pad, which can be vinyl covered and bolted through using 2 of the existing 6 wheel bolts, a friend passed like this not so long back.

It's probably easier than finding a smaller ford wheel.

Careful what you do though as the tester down here fails cars with the oem wheels due to field of vision requirements. He puts the distance measuring equipment thingy on the seat and a bit of string comes forward of it at a certain height, if the wheel is higher than this it's a fail. It can be tricky as oem wheels are so large, in order to clear your knees they can end up being high.
