Ive just purchased my latest project, and although its not a locost, I thought I would post here anyway!
GS MOON BUGGY 260CC G S MOON ROAD LEGAL not quad , on eBay (end time 14-Jun-11 18:05:20 BST)

Its a GS Moon 260 Buggy
My plan of attack is;
1. Get it registerd with the DVLA, Taxed and MOT'd.
2. engine swap
I havent picked it up yet but the seller has told me he has an EU certificate and other paperwork for the buggy, but not the original receipt. Does
this make it difficult to register? As I understand it doesn't need to go through the SVA procedure as these are bought ready built "off the
shelf".
Thanks!
Nick

Looks like fun, best of luck with DVLA
What engine do you want to swap into it?
If it's anything above the 15kW 'Heavy Quadricycle' limit then it will need an IVA as the vehicle has changed it's class.
Regarding IVA or MSVA - If you fit an engine with over 15KW net power this would invalidate the type approval as a 'heavy quadricycle' and would require your vehicle to undergo an IVA test......
Doh! - Scootz beat me to it....
(whilst I was verifying the 15KW figure in the MSVA manual)

It will definitely need a new IVA then, as I was thinking cbr600.
That probably wont be till after summer, Ill just drive it with the original 260cc lump till then.
My main concern is getting it registered in the fist place, is this hard to do without the original receipt?

Think you need the 'certificate of conformity' for your particular vehicle.
- if it is lost then how is your Chinese![]()
