I have a Locost Seven built in 1999 with a C reg plate, I guess from the donor Sierra. Previous MOT certificates list it as

Make - Locost
Model - Kit Car
Approx Year of First use - 1986

I am some way into finishing a Zetec engine ready to transplant in and wondered what emissions testing the car will be subjected to. I wont need a cat will I because I am putting a newer engine in?

No, it'll still be subject to it's original emmision level, ie. pre-cat levels.
