Do you need suspension to pass the IVA?

Hi all,

My thread, on the PPC forum, about the mini Se7en, I saw in Harrods, has got me thinking.

I quite like the idea of building a road legal tot rod, using the mini Cobra body, that's on eBay, but I was wondering, do I need to have suspension to pass the IVA?
Or, at the least, can I get away with just front, or rear suspension only, like a hardtail chopper?

Does anyone know?

Cheers Frank.

As far as I know the only vehicles exempt from suspension are agricultural ones,.. so you probably need suspension of some description.

In fact you'd probably want it with the state of our roads

A road legal Tot Rod
Well for a start the head lights would be to low as would the seat belt mounts.
I don't think it would be possible to pass one without making it look very weired.

I'd also not want a tot of mine rodding on our public roads....even if they were able to take to the roads with out a license of some sort....?

Thanks for the replies, I think I'm going to look into this some more.

I just like the idea of having a tot rod, that you could have a cruise down the road in, it would never be used on the road properly, but it would be fun if it was road legal.

You're welcome mate
Have you actually thought about how you'd actually fit in it?

I was going to let little Frank borrow my license, he's got the same name, he'll just have to add 28 years to his age!!!
