Brake pedals pipe lagging and IVA.

On my Dax rush the brake and clutch pedals look like they would fail the projection test.

I can cover the square pressure bit with a pedal rubber to also comply with the non-slip requirement but need to do something about the exposed pedals.

My thinking was to wrap both clutch and brake pedals (not the square bit at the bottom you press) with pipe lagging and secure with tie wraps.

I have searched the forum for this but if there is a thread have missed it. Is pipe lagging ok for IVA for this, if tie wraps are used to secure??

Items below the 150mm seat line contactable with a 100mm sphere in a forward direction only need to be blunted.

This should help you, brake / control pedals are exempt ... from section 12 page 2

Note the following are “exempted items” the surface of a window, seat controls, seat runners, seat belt locking mechanisms and the vehicle control pedals.

The blunted edge comment is not correct & should read as a 2.5 mm radius ... from section 12 page 1

Interior design features and fittings below the “specified zone” that are not adaptations for a disabled person and which are contactable with a 100mm sphere forward direction must have a radius of curvature of 2.5mm or greater, except where a projection from a panel is less than 3.2mm where the edges must be at least blunted

note this dont include shelfs or the gearlever

Well spotted on the fact the pedals are exempt, but you need to download the latest Manual, as the 2.5mm rule was removed:
Revisions - 4 - 26/07/2010 - RS2 amended removing 2.5mm radius requirement

It now reads:
2. Interior design features and fittings below the “specified zone” that are not adaptations for a disabled person and which are contactable with a 100mm sphere in a forward direction must be at least blunted. (see note 3, 4 and 9) see annex 2
