So I was planning on using all the parts from my sierra donor, including the 1.8 cvh. Always with the intention of upgrading when finances allow.
Thing is, I just went and bought a 2.0 zetec on ebay....too good a deal to miss (£80 with all the extra bits!)
Now, can i still get an age related plate using the donor parts but with the zetec in? (I remember reading somewhere a while ago about a points system
for dertermining the plate type, but is that just for new plates?)
....also, will a new loomecu be needed for the zetec? Only have the one that comes in the sierra at the moment
Cheers!

The points system applies to age related but engine gives a higher point score than other parts
I think if you can use donor gearbox hubs axles brakes diff steering you should be ok
But do check so you are fully aware
Yes should be fine it's how th BEC, still get age related
Is there a reason you want age related? Unless you want to put a private plate on there's no real value in age related over Q on a kit car.
Remember, with the 2.0 Zetec you've just bought if its a post August 1995 engine then you'll need to run a catalyst and engine management to
go with it, whereas getting an IVA with the CVH will not require a cat.
I got caught out many yeas ago on the point thing as its 1 point for axle, 1 for suspension but you must use the donor vehicle suspension for that to
qualify. I though I had 8 points but lost two on the suspension and had already sold the donor engine
I changed the 1.6 pinro engine in my sierra for the zetec at the start, on paper anyway....
