Another dash radius question
donut - 9/6/06 at 12:53 PM

I'm using some door trim rubber for a Mini that just pushes onto the bottom of the dash. Is this going to be ok or does it need to be permanantly fixed?

SVA bloke said mine had to be permanently fixed. Superglue did the job, dash re-covered after SVA

I would'nt have said superglue was a permanent fix but hey if it works!!

cover over the dash & door trim with vinyl, that way theres no way of taking it off & is permanat for the purposes of the sva test

My dash is already fitted and ready to go so i need to permanantly fix something. I don't want to rivet anything on as that will leave holes after.

hmmm

Yeah but in needs to come back off after and that stuff (good as it is) will leave a hell of a mess!!

I stapled mine on, worked a treat, but obviously the dash has to be ply!

Mines ally and carbon fiber looky likey fiberglass. I think i'm going to have to rivet something on there and sort the holes out later.

I find that hot glue is as permanent as you need it to be. It holds pretty much anything in place and when you want to remove it just carefully peel it away - it doesn't leave a mark.
