how could i determine the weight of hte car with out one big scale?

if i buy 4 on on each wheel could i then determine the total weight?

Yes - and you can use the individual corner weights to adjust your springs/shocks to give equal weights on all four corners, to improve handling...

I'd be seriously interested in knowing where you can get 4 reasonably priced scales from to do that... or maybe a group buy?

We have proper corner weight scales, but if your car is light enough you can use 4 cheap bathroom scales, or if it is heavier do the front & back seperately using 2 scales with a peice of wood across them on each pair of wheels.

Depends on how much accuracy you need. Cheap bathroom (spring) scales are generally hopeless.

A public weighbridge will get within 10kg for the whole car, but is obviously no good for setting up corner weights. Don't know if they have those in Spain though.

You could use four scales - one under each wheel - just make sure they are all level first.

Chris, they don't actually weigh your vehicle at SVA, they just obtain your individual axle weights which, when added together does NOT equal the actual weight of your vehicle.

Hi using bathroom scales for corner weighting the car is never going to be a usefull operation as they are so inacurate it is almost a joke. you could try the sort that they sell in tweeks ect that do a wheel at a time price £150 ish i think. Or get it profesionaly weighted for £30. Or just pay £150 ish and get the whole car setup profesionaly then you have all the info you need and recomondations to work on in the future and have a car that you know is right for peace of mind.

Yes been there done that with asda scales realy does not work out and sold them at the boot sale. If your anywhere near Brum try Procomp. brilliant

but to make up the spansih vehicle papers!

you need to do that over here with an engineeer wich in fact just asks you and takes the meter out of the pocket to measure the car up.

Will take it to one of the Porn (dismantle uhh butcher fabrics??) well for the spanish man: "mataderos" and for the dutch boys: "slachthuizen"

their they have a weight bridge wich should be able to weigh my car (i hope).

in the garage i was. they had a hydraulic installation wich could measure weight and also tell you something about the suspension.

but when that thing started to vibrate it was almost my hole car exploding!!!

also it couldn“t measure very fine because of the low weight.

i needed to sit on the front to generate a reading.

for the rear the same.

anyway will search a way.
