took the sva again this morning. Passed everything-
apart from the emissions that is


again the fella down there was spot on and seemed to really want to pass me. No questions, no getting out the daft knee spheres etc. I just pointed
all the bits out and he was happy. We even spent 20 minutes messing with the fuel reg pressure - but still no joy.
I am getting a bit brassed off now as i have had the car mapped twice.
If anyone can give me some help with this one i'd be proper greatful!
The car is busa powered running dax's standard exhaust with a sausage filter
If any pc3 wiz's fancy being 1st passenger out i have rebooked sva at chadderton for sat 1st and can change to suit. They are happy to let me
adjust the car settings and test a few times.

What readings did you get?
I have spoken to westfield on how they get their megabusa's through. (i am using a westfield exhaust system). They reckon just the exhaust and
tweak the fuel pressure! I have also spoken to a lad who has got his megabusa through and that's exactly what he did!!!
I am using a sausage filter and reckon it's gone a bit lean 'cos of this??
What fuel pressure do you have at the rail?

The readings were out a million miles.
i didn't note them down as i was concentrating on keeping the revs as consistent as possible

fast idle all were out ; lambda, co and hrdoc's

touch wood i'll get it right next time(a week on saturday) so i'll be up for evening forrays to hawes and back shortly after.
one thing i have noticed about the rush is the crappy fuel tank range. I reckon 70 miles is about the best you could get.
are all the becs similar or has this just got a particularly small tank>?

Regarding fuel pressure - i've been told that 43ish psi is close - 3 bar is damn close to that!! what mapping have you had done 'cos
i'm on the standard ecu and i'm not too far out. Mind you i'm only at 38 psi and it's too lean so hopefully upping the pressure
will sort it out.....

i'm running a custom map by holeshot. I have got a pc3 fitted and am hoping to sort the problem using this.
My only problem is i have no experience using one (as yet) and am not keen on damaging the motor by experimenting.
i have had it suggested that the test station meter might be wrong (wishful thinking) but might take it to an mot station to get a second opinion
anyway.
I would think you might be running lean with a freeflow filter on so maybe this is the way i need to go?
Mine appeared massively out / high. I have also noticed that the fumes do smell very 'petroly' even when i have driven the car a good
distance. It leaves the garage stinking after i get back with it (to the point i thought i maight have a fuel leak - which i havn't).
this is exactly how holeshot set it up though???

Been having problems with a Westfield XTR2 using a Hyabusa engine with a Power Commander . Several people have had a go at it but it has failed twice on emissions . Tried at last sva to adjust fuel pressure , could get it right at idle or fast idle but not both. Adjusted the fuel pressure at fast idle to get emissions right and then trimmed natural idle using the Power Commander which seems to have sorted the problem . Will know for sure on the 28th .
The fact that i am running too lean is the problem - if it's too lean then the lambda is greater than the 0.97 - 1.03 limit...if it's too
rich then the reading is lower than the 0.97 - 1.03 limit.
I amusing the original earlybusa fuel pump which according to specs should deliver 43psi. I'm getting 38, therein lies the problem!
Did you say that you don't have your readings? The only way to fine tune is to find a friendly MOT station and use the analyser, that's what
I intend to do before retest.
I was working in Chadderton yesterday!! Babbies heads, gravy, pea wet etc. etc.

I are you running the fuel pump relay throught the bike efi brain. If not it can cause the efi brain to go to a fault status.
Does the PC3 save the map to solid state ? if not do you have a permanant live ( that is not affected by ignition / kill switch ) wandering if it is
going back a default.
Have the PC checked could be a faulty one ( it has been known )
Holsts nachine may be out test at mot station ?
Is any oy your wiring neer anything that could cause interferance

as far as i am aware everything should be hunky dorey with the car. I'm not brilliant with electrics so paid to have all my wiring and tuning
done by holeshot in the expectation that i wouldn't have any problems with emissions or engine set up.
unfortunately this isn't the case.
