Is there anyone out there who can make me a couple of VIN plates? I could have a go myself but would really like a professional looking one with just the chassis number, made of stainless which I can tack weld onto my chassis - plus maybe a posh one which can be rivetted somewhere more visible.

Any ideas?

JB - That plate looks very posh - who made it?

I don't think customsolutions will punch a plate to weld onto the chassis and an engraved weld on is no good for the DVLA.

A engraved VIN plate thats riveted onto the bulkhead ect is fine but the welded plate needs to be punched.

I am thinking of printing out my VIN in a "dot matrix" font then using a centre punch and hammer to follow all the little dots which will form the VIN, as I am having problems producing a nice clean stamped plate.

As I said on my original post it was a friend of mine who works in the metal/engraving trade. I did the artwork (going from photo to outlines etc.) and then he did the hard work.
He did say that he would do more if they were needed. Cheaper if u use the same pic (its my car) or more expensive for different pic.


By the way i have two of these plates riveted to the car and have also punched my VIN twice on the chassis either side of the engine bay.
